The useful life of a non-returnable container is very short. However, a returnable container extends its service cycle because it can be recovered, returned to the market and continue to be useful before going out of circulation. CPQ has implemented an efficient container tracking system and guarantees that, at the end of their use life, they arrive at our warehouses to manage their recycling and minimize their environmental impact.
We have managed to reduce the plastic waste placed on the market from 0.19‰ in 2019 to 0.08‰ in 2021. In this period, we have reduced the purchase of 1.000-liter containers by half.
How have we achieved this purpose?
- Our customers receive our products in containers that have an identification plate and are delivered as a deposit.
- Once empty, the containers are ready for return.
- The return container enters our production line again where it is prepared to be refilled and shipped.
Improving the traceability of the containers and extending their useful life, our containers change their waste characteristic to become a sustainable resource.
